Electrical: schematics, cabinets and wiring people assemble without questions

Schematics, wiring diagrams, wire tables and labels, and 3D cabinet layouts from manufacturer models. Plus electronics wiring inside mechanical products, from a drone to a wheeled platform.

Electrics fail not on the schematic but where they meet mechanics: a device does not fit the enclosure, a duct covers the terminals, a connector is marginal on current. So I build the cabinet or product in 3D from real device models first, and only then issue schematics.

The second common problem: schematic, wire table and labels are made separately and drift apart. In my projects all three are generated from one data source.

3D model

A drawing package: bill of materials, general arrangement and device layout, schematic, wiring diagrams, terminal tables.

Connection table and wire labels in Excel: address at both ends of every wire, gauge, colour, terminal bridges.

A 3D cabinet model with manufacturer device models: clearances, ducts, cable glands and service space are visible.

PROCESS

How I do it

DWG-274
METHOD
5 STEPS

Data and real devices first, then the 3D layout, and only then schematics and tables from a single source.

01

Review the brief: device list, terminal count, installation conditions, labelling requirements

02

Get 3D device models from manufacturers and lay out the cabinet: DIN rails, ducts, glands, heating

03

Enter devices, terminals, bridges and wires into one data source

04

Generate schematics, terminal tables, connection table and labels from that source

05

Automatically check addresses, nets and wire counts, and sheets for overlapping text

PRODUCTION CONSTRAINTS

What to check before assembly

CONSTRAINTS
4 ITEMS

Electrical mistakes are most expensive at assembly, so these are checked on the model.

Device envelopes. A switch, a breaker with an auxiliary contact or a heater has real dimensions and connection zones. A box instead of the manufacturer model gives a cabinet the device does not fit.

Current and connectors. In the drone wiring the XT60 connector was marginal already in hover: the current check showed XT90 and 10 AWG leads are needed.

Terminals and bridges. The terminal table must match the schematic down to every bridge, or the wrong cabinet gets built.

Installation conditions. An outdoor cabinet needs IP54, a rain roof and thermostat-controlled heating against condensation.

The cabinet, the drone and the platform differ in scale, but the approach is the same: real components, a 3D layout and documentation from one source.

TERMS

I give a time estimate within 24 hours of receiving the brief or the device list.

If your factory has a drawing template (title blocks, label format), send it with the task: the package will match it.

I can take just part of the job: only the 3D cabinet layout, or only schematics and tables for an existing layout.

Both. Cabinets and panels with DIN-rail devices, and electronics wiring inside mechanical products: component list, placement, a wire table with lengths and gauges.
From official manufacturer 3D models: breakers, switches, terminals, heaters. That way envelopes and connection zones in the cabinet match reality.
Schematics and drawings as PDF, connection table and labels in Excel, the 3D model as STEP. Styled to your template if you have one.
Yes, for product wiring I check currents, voltage drop and connector margins. Example in the drone case: XT60 replaced with XT90.
